Nashville Tennessee Trip In January 2012

We never officially planned this trip, but it was in the back of our minds for the last month. Due to James school having a longer than usual Christmas break we decided that if we got halfway decent weather we would make a quick break down to Tennessee to visit Mary’s dad. Problem is, the weather would have to be halfway decent for four states and three days. Luck must have been with us because all three days were perfect and Friday it hit the mid sixties in Nashville. The schedule was drive ten hours the first day, then visit Mary’s dad in the evening, spend the second day with Mary’s dad, then return the third day after visiting in the morning. The trip went exactly as planned and a great time was had by all including James.

In addition we stopped in to visit our cousin Lynn who is actually in the same facility on the same floor. Quite a coincidence having a member from each side of the family in the same facility that is 10 hours away from Michigan. Lynn agreed to let me take her picture so Peg could see what she looks like (she hasn’t seen Lynn since they were kids).

Fathers Day 2011

What an awesome Fathers day Dad had. First, I got to watch the Jeff Bridges version of True Grit, then a few hours later got to watch the John Wayne version of True Grit. But the biggest and best surprise came when James Raymond made dessert for his Dad. Mom helped a little, especially with the stove, but for the most part James did the work himself. Needless to say we all got to have a nice healthy sweet treat on Fathers day.

The Weather was perfect today and the entire family got to have various outdoor activities. James and Dad played soccer and basketball while Mom went on her walk to Penn Park. (more…)

Fathers Day 2009

What a surprise I had today, James came home and had several crafts that he had made for Fathers day. There was a key holder, and pictures of him making the key holder out of wood. What a surprise. James showed us the card he made as well, it had a picture of him holding a happy Fathers day sign. Thanks James

Chuck Military Picture Archive

Chuck is the son of Charles and Loretta, brother to Criss and Peg, and Father to James. Chuck spent his four years in army intelligence mostly Korea, Boston, and Washington State and then 2 years in the inactive reserves. Although this was a peacetime military, Ronald Reagan invaded Grenada to restore order there at the request of the Grenada government so it technically was a wartime period which makes Chuck eligible for American Legions and such. Chuck joined the army the day after the Iranian recue attempt failed (Carter Administration) and while in basic training the Reagan era began.
