I think I was in the third grade at Pardee school in Dearborn Heights. My 3rd grade teacher can't remember her name but she was young and beautiful, she would greet us at the door of class and welcome us in. One day she was not at the door and the class was unruly. I saw her at the window looking out, something was wrong. I asked is anything wrong? She told me her Father had died. I told her I was sorry to hear that, than she said I never knew him that well. You see he was a solder of fortune, he left Mom and me to seek his fortune. He did discover a Amethyst mine, but live from hand to mouth the rest of his life. He left me his mine and I'm trying to decide if I should sell the mine and get what ever for it or keep his dream of wealth alive. I asked what does Amethyst look like? My teacher handed me a rock they had send to her of pure Amethyst. The rock was purple , I told my Teacher purple is the color of Royalty, why not make jewelry out of it. I handed back the rock to my Teacher. My Teacher told me I could have the rock. Jewelry she said under her breath. When I showed it to my Mother she told me to hide it and never show it to anyone. I did hide it but when I had my own place I put it in a cabinet only I knew it was there. In Department stores They still use what I had said all those years ago Purple the color of Royalty and I feel so proud. This happen many years ago since I’m 63 years young.
