Mothers Day 2013

20130512_110051These pics were taken a couple days before and a couple days after Mothers day. The day before Mothers day Mary worked a flea market with James. Then on Mothers day we took Grandma and Mom out to dinner at the China Buffet (which now has a Sushi bar, for those who like that type of thing). Then we took the Mom’s out to Flat Rock to shop at an antique store there, then stopped at Aunt Peg’s to drop off some items and pick some items up. Later on that week we went to the Wyandotte city wide garage sale and James got to play at the park. Finally James created a word search puzzle with his name and some of his friends, pretty clever. Fathers Day 2011

What an awesome Fathers day Dad had. First, I got to watch the Jeff Bridges version of True Grit, then a few hours later got to watch the John Wayne version of True Grit. But the biggest and best surprise came when James Raymond made dessert for his Dad. Mom helped a little, especially with the stove, but for the most part James did the work himself. Needless to say we all got to have a nice healthy sweet treat on Fathers day.

The Weather was perfect today and the entire family got to have various outdoor activities. James and Dad played soccer and basketball while Mom went on her walk to Penn Park. (more…)

Mothers Day 2011

This year Mothers Day was a little different than usual. First, we did not travel to our usual Chinese restaurant in Flat Rock, but went to our normal Chinese restaurant in Taylor with Aunt Peg. Aunt Peg joined us on our trip to Michigan Memorial Cemetery where we placed flowers on all the graves. On the way home Aunt Peg wanted to get some things from the store so we dropped her off and took James to the park for a few minutes while Aunt Peg shopped. We picked Aunt Peg up and took her home and had a great day. The weather was perfect (however the two weeks before was all rain and the two weeks after would be all rain).

Grandma is still recovering from her broken leg and arm so she did not make the trek with us, however the next day we surprised her with a McDonalds breakfast.

A different Mothers day but just as fun as the ones in the past.

Fathers Day 2009

What a surprise I had today, James came home and had several crafts that he had made for Fathers day. There was a key holder, and pictures of him making the key holder out of wood. What a surprise. James showed us the card he made as well, it had a picture of him holding a happy Fathers day sign. Thanks James

Mothers Day at Sterling Park 2004

We spent the day at Sterling Park, it was a bright and sunny day and James looked like he was ready to do something more than play in his playpen. James got to play in beach sand for the first time and had much fun playing in the grass as well. Mary had gotten me a new 35mm camera and I was very anxious to try it out, so these are the first pics with the camera. Lots of first today!

Sterling Park is located in Monroe MI and is the same park that I had my going away party when I went in the service so it has special memories for me as well.
